xplAIned ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide the service:

Questions you ask — messages you send to the AI assistant are processed to generate a response. We do not store your conversation history.
Persona preference — if you select a persona during onboarding, this is stored locally on your device only.
Usage data — we track how many AI questions you've asked today (locally on your device) to enforce the free tier limit. This is never sent to our servers.
Purchase information — subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
We do not track your location
We do not use advertising or sell your data to third parties
We do not store conversation history on our servers

Third-Party Services

xplAIned uses the following third-party services:

Anthropic — AI responses are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Your questions are sent to Anthropic's servers to generate responses. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Supabase — model data (names, specs, pricing) is fetched from our Supabase database. No personal data is stored there. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Apple — subscriptions and payments are managed by Apple's App Store. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is nothing to delete. All preferences are stored locally on your device and can be cleared by deleting the app.

Children's Privacy

xplAIned is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
